Steampunk Robin by brassgoblin Steampunk Robin by brassgoblin
Here is my Steampunk Robin cosplay. I went with a military theme when trying to find the right jacket to use as I wanted to forgo wearing a cape, despite that being a common Victorian era piece of clothing.

The grappling gun is made from a modified Nerf Maverick and a Batman toy grappling hook.

The goggles are a colour modification of my Classic design in a matte black with gold accents and magnifiers.

The photo was taken by Pete Labrozzi [link] while at NYCC 2012.

Thanks. I found it on eBay, it's from a Korean company and it's actually a girls jacket.

Thanks so much. I make all my own goggles and sell them at anime conventions on the east coast and etsy [link], although my shop is pretty empty since I'm prepping for Katsucon :)

=w= My gosh, this is awesome.
Question. How did you handle (read as: cover up/get rid of) all the logos and stuff on the Nerf gun?

I used a chisel and sand paper to remove the logos off the Maverick, and then pre-painted everything in black.

o.o Okay, thank you! I was going to try that, but I wasn't sure it would work. Thanks so much!

No problem. Good luck and be careful; any extra scrapes on the gun will look like cool battle damage, but you don't want to gouge your fingers with a chisel.

xD Heheh, thanks! It worked quite well--all I need now is to prime it and paint it, and it'll be ready to go!
And I totally managed not to cut myself. Huge deal. xD
