Steampunk Goblinologist by brassgoblin Steampunk Goblinologist by brassgoblin
-{-{ Thank you to everyone that voted for me in the Steampunk Kindle Photo Contest...I won!!! }-}-

Titus Fulton, Goblinologist, PhD

"Here I stand after recently capturing this prime specimen of a clockgoblin. This particular creature is of the sub species krill and was quite difficult to corner."

This is my cosplay of an original steampunk character I created. This photo was taken by :iconryutarou: in an alley outside the convention center at Anime Boston 2011.

I'm wearing a coat I found at Goodwill that I modified with buckles and trim. The broch and chain on the left side of the coat where made by my wife :iconaluminumbunny: and feature two of her illustrations of a steampunk zombie boy and a zombie girl (You should check out her profile for the original art). My wife and I also made the spats which cover military steel toed boots that I painted brass. The belts and pouches are vietnam era military belts from :iconshiroiyukiko:'s father which I then dyed varying degrees of brown. The goggles are my own modification. The cage on the ground contains my "clockgoblin" which is a modified action figure made from various marvel and mcfarlane figures and set within a metal birdcage.

The scarf, pants, shirt and vest are also from Goodwill, but unmodified.

Thanks man, I actually got it at Goodwill for around $10; it's best place to get clothes for steampunk cosplay.

Sadly I don't think there's any Goodwill stores around Europe? :c

That stinks. Well any thrift store would do I think, you just gotta keep going back every now and then.

We all do, you just need to look where you never look and peer over shoulder at that shadow you thought you saw. Goblins and creatures of the Fae live all around us, they are just very wickedly good at keeping their secrets.

Insidious indeed! The concept, costume, and character are wonderfully wretched. (alliteration is like amphetamine, only less lenient)

...could you possibly submit a close-up of the Goblin? It looks great from here.

I've been meaning to post some close-ups of the goblin. I'm getting a new camera this week, so the goblin is one of my intended subjects.

What's wrong with Goblinologist? Steampunk is already about a future that never occurred, so why can't goblins exist in that world too? Who's to say that they don't exist in our world now?

Goblins totally exist. I blame them frequently for my car's malfunctions! Would you say that a Goblinologist participates in catch and release or would the specimens be collected for further study?

Generally a Goblinologist will dissect and examine many specimens. They rarely catch and release as the catching part is so difficult to begin with.
